Halloween Tribal Viben
/I used to spent A LOT of time on my Halloween costumes. I would plan for weeks, hand-sew everything, spend hours upon hours putting it together and all for a mediocre night at best. I'm sure it had to do with my expectations going into it but how can you not get super pumped after so much planning and prep?
The past couple of years I have taken a different approach and decided to treat myself to a nice dinner and an even nicer bottle of wine. So far so good. I still try to do my part in being as festive as possible without an actual costume, though, which is how I landed on this pretty little number.
I normally steer clear of color combo's that remind me of certain non-chichi things:
yellow + black= bumble bee, green + brown= ninja turtle, yellow + purple= Lakers.
Black + orange obviously being super Halloween-y but given the holiday I thought it worked. Went with one of my all-time favorite patterned jackets instead of a basic black leather to take it up a notch. Also added my own belt because the dress was a little baggy and long, could be perfect for a spring/summer beach-y fit at some point as I am obsessed with the keyhole-racer neckline.
